Jan/Feb 2012: 'The future we want'

• To be in by 15th of the month prior to publication, ie 15th December in this case.
• Send a concise 120 words. Please note that we will have to return for cutting anything that exceeds this by too much, ie you can 'get away with' an extra 10 words, but that's it. ? Sorry – but we get too many submissions and must be pedantic. ;-)
• Please spend some of the words addressing the topic, 'the future we want' and then segue into your own promotion, concluding with your 'call to action' and contact details.
• As this is a quasi editorial piece, it is subject to editing as if it were an article.
• Do not capitalise unnecessarily – only proper nouns to have a capital letter.
• Please give it a short heading – attention-grabbing words, typed in lower case (except for proper nouns and the first word).
• If we don't have one on file already, please send a logo or a smallish picture of yourself, in case yours is a successful article – pic to be 300 dpi when 3cm wide. Please do not send a huge file of several MB, and also not a very tiny one (e.g., one that is already small on a website, since that will be only 72 dpi, or about ¼ the size that we need for print). Send the photo as a separate attachment in the email – not embedded in the Word document.
• Please confirm in writing that you give permission for this to be published in print in our magazine, on our website and, if applicable in future, as part of an e-book.
• Send all words in the one email or Word document attached to the email so that we can handle it efficiently. Only your picture is to be a separate file. Again, excuse the pedantry, but it's a big job to get these all on the page and every little bit helps us.
• Provide your full contact details, including your postal address, so that we can mail a copy of the magazine after publication.
• Please tell us in the email how much you are offering to pay, and then we can mutually make arrangements to take your credit card details by phone.
