Consider the life of a tree. Beginning as a seed in the womb of soil, a sprout reaches up for the love of light, embracing both earth and sky. As it grows and nourishes its own needs for love and connection to the elements, the tree becomes a natural source of love for all around it. Its limbs… a resting place. Its flowers… nectar to drink. Its shade… a place to sleep. The whisper of its leaves… the calling of a dream. The fruit of its creation… sustenance for all to share. The tree stands quiet in its truth, simply being and becoming, and in this way shares love a thousand-fold, love that will continue to find forms of expression well beyond its life… in the hull of a canoe to carry you, the arm of a chair to hold you, the graceful hollow of a flute to sing with you and the warmth of fire to light your way… before ash settles into soil again, becoming a womb of nourishment for the next seed. LOVE.
